Disability Awareness Training

This workshop aims to support NGB,s clubs, community groups and schools in developing and enhancing provision, opportunities, and practices, which will ensure that people with disabilities have the opportunity to access sport at a level suitable to them in both a participation and performance capacity. This workshop is delivered by our Senior Sports Officer Ray Mc Namara.

Disability Inclusion Training

  • 1 day 6 hour training course, including 3 hours theory and 3 hours practical  

This course is designed to provide attendees with the knowledge, skills and ideas on how to adapt and modify your sport, physical activity or physical education sessions to make them more accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities.

Attendees will be engaged through interactive group work, theory content and will be introduced to adaptation tools which will be applied to a variety of games and activities on how to make these inclusive for all ability groups.

On completion of the course all attendees will receive a CARA Sport Inclusion Ireland Certificate of Attendance endorsed by Sport Ireland, a resource manual and a games booklet full of fun inclusive activities.

Autism In Sport

This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of autism focusing on the delivery of sport.

The course content is designed to help participants to recognise and understand key areas of consideration and to look at practical strategies which will help to include people with autism in sport. 

Who is this workshop for?

Sports leaders, coaches, volunteers, teachers, principals, special needs assistants (SNAs), parents or anyone who has an interest in making their sport accessible and inclusive for people with Autism.

Inclusive Fitness Training

This workshop is designed to increase the confidence and awareness of fitness managers, fitness professionals and all front line staff to work with people with disabilities in the fitness sector.

The training will provide access to resources that will increase the knowledge of fitness managers and fitness professionals to create inclusive environments and programmes in the fitness sector for people with disabilities.

This workshop is accredited by REPs Ireland.

Private Courses:

  • Disability Sports Training workshops are now available for private delivery.
  • Venue to be provided by the club.
  • Minimum numbers are 16.
  • Certificates of attendance are issued at the end of the course.
