Mayo County Council provides a wide range of services to the local community such as road maintenance, planning and development, library services, leisure and recreational facilities, housing, civic amenities, motor tax offices, area offices, community support and investment, arts and heritage services, and environmental services. Mayo County Council operates under a service level agreement with Irish Water to maintain and improve water services.
Mayo County Fire Service serves one of the largest fire authority areas in the country, and Mayo County Council hosts the CAMP West Regional Communications Centre which provides a vital 24 hour / 365 day call answering service for the public to contact fire services when they have an emergency.
The Human Resources Department is responsible for the recruitment of staff to fill critical vacancies in these service areas.
