Beach Lifeguard & Head Beach Lifeguard (June – September 2024)
Mayo County Council seeks applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Beach Lifeguard and Head Lifeguard during the period June – September 2024, as required.
Applicants must hold a Water Safety Ireland Beach Lifeguard Award or equivalent, as recognised by the International Lifesaving Federation (ILSF) on commencement of employment.
The full Beach Lifeguard Course, including Examinations, will be held from 23rd to 29th March 2024 and a separate application is required for the Full Course. The Renewal Beach Lifeguard Course including Examinations will be held from 27th to 29th March 2024 and a separate application is also required for the Renewal Course. If you successfully complete the Full or Renewal Beach Lifeguard Course, you will be eligible to compete for employment as a Beach Lifeguard for the 2024 Bathing Season.

Pool Lifeguard – Belmullet Tidal Pool (June – September 2024)
Mayo County Council seeks applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Pool Lifeguard during the period June – September 2024, as required.Applicants must hold a Water Safety Ireland Pool Lifeguard Award or equivalent, as recognised by the International Lifesaving Federation (ILSF) on commencement of the employment.

The rate of pay for Beach Lifeguards will be €620.76 per week (39 hour/6 day week); €15.92 per hour. The rate of pay for Head Beach Lifeguards will be €699.25 per week (39 hour/6 day week); €17.93 per hour The rate of pay for Belmullet Tidal Pool Lifeguards will be €15.92 per hour.
Dog Warden
Mayo County Council is currently setting up a panel for the position of Dog Warden

The starting pay for new entrants will be at the minimum of the scale and the rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy
