Oweninny Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund 2023 - Open For Applications For Category 3

Closing Date for submission of Applications through the online portal is: Friday, 01 December, 2023, at 5pm.

Mayo County Council invites Applications from qualifying groups* for funding under the Oweninny Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund under Category 3 small scale capital projects, within Target Area.

Qualifying Categories:  

For an application to be considered for funding under the Scheme, it must satisfy at least one of the following categories: 

• Amenities; Culture/Heritage; Education; Recreation/Health; Social Inclusion; Community Development; Environment. 

*Qualifying Groups:  

A qualifying criterion applies, including membership of the PPN and located within the Target Area. Further details including a Map of Target Area are available on www.mayo.ie

The Fund will support:

• Groups around purchase of equipment e.g., tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, lawnmowers, canopies, and training equipment etc.
• Communities, community groups/committees allowing them to continue to provide valuable services to the people in their area, and in the process strengthen the bonds that tie communities together.

Examples of Projects that could receive funding under CATEGORY 3 include:

• Development / renovation of community centres
• Community amenities
• Development of youth clubs or facilities
• Development of sports/ recreation facilities
• Improvements to town parks and common areas and spaces
• Public realm improvements
• Streetscaping
• Development of play/ recreation spaces
• Energy efficiency type projects.

Before you Start – We recommend that you have the following supporting documents to hand:

• PPN Number
• Charity Number (if applicable)
• Tax Reference Number (if applicable)
• Tax Clearance Access Number (if applicable)
• Details of Income Received from any other source
• Bank Statement Header – recent, and in applicant group name
• Capital – 3 quotations per element to meet National procurement requirements
• Current Costs– costs relevant to October 2023 –  December 2024
