Project Description 

The N59 Westport to Mulranny Road Scheme consists of the improvement of approximately 25.2km of the N59 National Secondary Road between Westport and Mulranny. Mayo County Council advanced a project on the N59 called the N59 Westport to Mulranny - Kilmeena Section road re-alignment, which included: 

 2.65km of Type 3 Single Carriageway road  

 Re-alignment of 5 side road junctions 

 Various reconfigured accommodation works accesses 

The widening of two road bridges and the reconfiguration of 7 no. culverts 

Incorporation of the Great Western Greenway into the carriageway cross section and some offline re-alignment of the greenway itself 

 

Current Project Phase 

The project was completed in Q2 2020.
