Mayo County Council's Customer Charter lets you know what you can expect from your dealings with us.

Improving the quality of life and promoting the wellbeing of people living in Mayo, together with enhancing the attractiveness of the County as a place to live, work, invest and enjoy, underpins everything we do.

Our vision for our County is a Mayo that is Sustainable, Inclusive, Prosperous and Proud. Our Corporate Plan contributes in no small way to securing that vision, and to significantly advancing the promotion of jobs, enterprise, investment and employment, for the benefit of all our people which is a very real, exciting, and achievable objective.

Community and Economic Development, the wellbeing of our communities, and the creation of jobs are our primary focus and we work with National Government to align functions of development with local government.

To deliver on the commitment given in our Corporate Plan, we have drawn up a Customer Charter so that you know the quality of service you can expect from us.  It also details the standards of conduct we have come to expect from you in return.

Providing a diverse range of public services, we are committed to be of real service to our customers, in an efficient, effective and caring way.  Where possible, we will try to resolve your query at the first point of contact.

In May 2019 a new Council was elected comprising 30 elected Members and the local electoral areas were reformed into four Municipal Districts namely, Castlebar, Westport-Belmullet, Ballina and Claremorris-Swinford.  It is by working together with our local elected representatives, our employees, and all stakeholders that we can deliver our Mission, Vision, and Goals. Our Customer Care Charter will help us to deliver our services more efficiently, effectively, and transparently.
