Planning and Enforcement
Mayo Fire Service ensure that buildings are planned, designed, constructed, and maintained in accordance with current fire safety guidance. This is carried out in accordance with the Fire Services Acts 1981 and 2003 and the Building Control Acts 1990 and 2014.
Emergency Management
Mayo Fire Service, supported by other sections of the local authority, and in consultation with the Principal Response Agencies of An Garda Síochána and the Health Service Executive, regularly conduct emergency exercises as an integral and proactive approach to emergency management.
Dangerous Substance and Other Licencing
Mayo Fire Service is also responsible for the assessment and processing of Dangerous substance licence applications, and is a notice party for many variations of court licence applications for assembly and recreation premises, as well as large crowd events.
