About Us
The Sláintecare Healthy Communities Programme commenced in North and West Mayo in 2021 a partnership between the Department of Health, the HSE, Mayo County Council, community agencies and the local community to collectively focus on the health and wellbeing in North and West Mayo.
Mayo County Council role is to help address the wider determinants of health, which are the non-medical factors or the conditions in which people are born, grow, work live and age, that affect health outcomes.
A Local Development officer for the North Mayo Area will work closely with the local community to agree priorities areas related to the wider determinants and target responses where community health outcomes require greater attention.
