Mayo County Council welcomes Cleveland delegation to Achill

Mayo County Council were delighted to welcome a 15 strong delegation from Cleveland, led by Mayor of Cleveland, Justin Bibb to Achill Island last Saturday evening.

The Cleveland delegation arrived into Ireland on the inaugural Aer Lingus flight direct from Cleveland to Dublin, which was launched last weekend.

Leas Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, Cllr Michael Kilcoyne along with Kevin Kelly, Chief Executive of Mayo County Council, and senior officials from the council met with Mayor Bibb and a mix of business and political leaders from Cleveland at an event hosted by the Achill Cleveland Twinning Association together with Comhlacht Forbartha Aitiuil Acla.

The event was a great opportunity to discuss the 20-year twinning agreement between the two regions of Mayo and Cuyahoga and an opportunity to discuss potential for the future, around economic, education, tourism, and cultural opportunities.

The delegation from Cleveland consisted of Mayor of Cleveland, Justin Bibb; Cleveland City Council, President Blaine Griffin; City of Cleveland Deputy Chief of Staff, Ryan Puente; Cuyahoga County Executive, Chris Ronayne; Cuyahoga Council President, Pernell Jones; Cuyahoga County Deputy Chief of Staff, David Razum; Greater Cleveland Partnership CEO, Baiju Shah; Greater Cleveland Partnership Chief Counsel, Marty McGann; Team NEO CEO, Bill Koehler; Team NEO VP, Mark Owens; Team NEO Managing Director Global Business, Mindy McLaughlin; Huntington Bank Regional President, Sean Richardson and JobsOhio FDI Specialist, Justin Kocher.
