Mayo County Council Local Live Performance Programming Scheme - Phase 2 Funding Announced

Mayo County Council is delighted to announce that applications are now open for a second phase of funding under the Local Live Performance Programming Scheme (LLPPS).  The scheme is to support those working in the commercial arts and culture sectors by developing events that engage the services of local professional artists, musicians, technicians, producers and other professional practitioners involved in live performances and will help underpin the recovery of the live performance sector.  The Local Live Performance Programming Scheme is funded through the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and administered by Mayo County Council.  The Department recently announced a second strand of LLPPS funding available for the Winter/Christmas season.

The first phase which funded the Mayo Live Series in August to October this year was a huge success and brought live events to local communities showcasing local Mayo talent.  Twenty-five performances took take place in towns and villages across the four Municipal Districts of County Mayo including Achill, Aughagower, Ballina, Ballyhaunis, Castlebar, Shrule and Westport.  A total of 158 performers were engaged and 98 technical/production staff employed.

Mayo County Council is seeking applications from all interested parties including organisations, groups, promoters, producers, venues, etc. who wish to receive support for live performances in County Mayo between now and the 31st December 2021.  Proposed events can take place in indoor or outdoor settings. 

The scheme is open to any organisation, group, producer, promoter or venue that has a proven capacity to host arts events. All genres of performance (Music, Spectacle, Circus, Street Arts, Spoken Word, Performance Art, Theatre) are encouraged to apply to this scheme.
