Art in the Landscape Workshop: Call out for Participants

Date: Saturday 12th March 2022 
Time: 10.30am – 12.30pm.
Venue: Ballinglen Art Foundation, Main Street, Ballycastle, Co. Mayo.  

The aim of the artist-led workshops is to creatively engage participants in the consideration of their own landscape and to share the things they value about where they live, life in the area and ways to celebrate them through art in the landscape. This hands-on workshop will include creating a wish list for future art in the landscape projects.  

The workshop will include: 

  • Abstract Mapping – making a picture of the cultural & historical landscape
  • An audio & souvenir collecting walk
  • Writing a vision for site specific work 

Open to the public who are interested in their immediate environment, climate change, heritage, cultural tourism and the landscape. Workshop will be facilitated by artist Rachel Hones and Anna Horton.

This workshop is part of the research for the upcoming Art in the Landscape Seminar which will take place on the 25th May 2022. Studio Response have been engaged as the Cultural Producers for this project. Funded through the Arts Council's Invitation to Collaborate Scheme. This is a continuation of the Art in the Landscape research that took place in 2020 / 2021.
