Project Description
The proposed road development includes the provision of a Bypass of Ballyhaunis to the East of the town, traversing and connecting the N60 Claremorris Road, N83 Galway Road, N60 Castlerea Road & the N83 Charlestown Road.
Current Project Phase
In 2009 an emerging preferred route was ratified by Mayo County Council. Following this approval, the route was included in the Ballyhaunis Local Area Development Plan.
Scheme Status
This scheme is currently suspended. This means the project will be held at its current phase of the design process. The route will remain protected for planning purposes to safeguard the line of the proposed road from any development that could prejudice the construction and safe operation of the road. The design process will resume when funding becomes available.
