Project Description:

The N60 Pollavaddy to Balla Active Travel facility proposes a standalone cycleway / walkway along or close to the N60 between the proposed N60 Heathlawn Active Travel facility (Pollavaddy Junction) and Balla Town. The cross-section will comprise a hard surface approximately 3m wide.

Current Project Phase

The project is currently at Phase 3 (Design & Environmental Evaluation) of the TII Project Management Guidelines.

Preferred Route Option

Following on from the Route Options Public Consultation Number 2 (PC2) which took place during April 2024, amendments were made to the design based on public feedback, a road safety audit and practical layout arrangements. The preferred route can be viewd by clicking the following link - N60 Pollavaddy to Balla Preferred Route Drawing.

The current Phase 3 involves the development of the project design to a stage where sufficient levels of detail exist to establish landtake requirements, to identify and mitigate project impacts and to progress the project to the statutory planning stage.
