N60 Road Improvement at Manulla Study Area

Project Description

The proposed project will consider the upgrade of existing N60 between townlands of Lakeland Lower and Creaghanboy with localised improvement solutions being developed between Creaghanboy and Lagnamuck. The project will seek to address deficiencies of existing carriageway in terms of horizontal/vertical road alignment, cross section width,  forward visibility and stopping sight distance at junctions.

Current Project Phase

The project is currently at Phase 2 (Option Selection) of the TII Project Management Guidelines.  Mayo County Council has appointed Barry Transportation as technical advisor to assist in progressing the scheme through the Planning and Design Phases.  Two options are undergoing Stage 2 Option Appraisal to support identification of a Preferred Option Corridor.  Environmental specialists are engaged to provide an  assessment of the options, and provide guidance as to selection of the Preferred Option.

Note:

The route corridors shown on this map are for general location purposes only.  They are approximate and do not represent the actual design.
