Explore a Summer theme through Stained Glass, Screen Printing,  Mosaic,  Clay Modelling, Painting  and  Drawing   with visual artist Gabrielle Bishop at her workshop and gardens in  Kilmeena. Travellers’ Journey @ Museum of Country Life

Travellers’ Journey, a new temporary exhibition about Traveller life and traditions in the west of Ireland, is open now on Level D of the exhibition galleries. Some of the key objects on display include a jacket worn by boxer Francis Barrett at the 1996 Summer Olympics; a model barrel top wagon; a tie belonging to Martin Ward, Tuam’s first Traveller mayor; beady pockets traditionally worn by Traveller women; and artworks by Leeane McDonagh. National Treasures @ Museum of Country Life

View an exhibition of ordinary little objects with big stories to tell, based on the popular RTÉ television programme - National Treasures with John Creedon. All exhibition objects were submitted by members of the public as part of a unique all-island social history project to tell the story of Ireland over the last century. More than 70 objects are on display, reflecting various themes, moments and memories from the last 100 years. The exhibition continues until August 31.
