The Voice of Old Trafford to launch Mayo Manchester Tradfest

Alan Keegan, Manchester United’s Football Club stadium announcer is heading to Ballina in July to help launch this year’s 2016 Mayo Manchester Tradfest. Alan will host the six day festival’s Gala Concert on Saturday 29 July at the Ballina Arts Centre.
Known as ‘The Voice of Old Trafford’ he has been announcing the world famous football stars at Manchester United and the national team’s Wembley venue since 2000. He is also an accomplished TV and radio broadcaster and accomplished Irish author who has been involved with promoting Irish culture in Manchester for over thirty years.
Tony Hennigan from Mayo Manchester commented “We are delighted to be able to bring Alan over to Mayo. We would like to thank the Ballina Chamber and The Ice House Hotel in Ballina for helping us sponsor this unique visit.”
The annual concert at the Ballina Arts Centre looks set to be another sell-out show. A limited number of early bird tickets are just ten Euros each until the end of June at the Ballina Tourist Office and the Ballina Arts Centre.
Performers from Mayo include: The award winning musicians Tom Doherty and Dave Doocey with the CCE Admiral Brown group from Foxford, The Murphy Sisters, Irish dancers The Ganley Sisters, musicians, singers and dancers from the Atlantic Rhythm Production Company, The Heroes for Hospice group and acoustic singer songwriters Dennis McCalmount and Brian Duffy.
Performers from Manchester include: The Keegan Academy of Irish Dance who are trained by Lord of the Dance star, James Keegan and his sister Louise plus The Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band.
