Resilience of Lauda to take off from the Miracle of Horan

Mayo County Council are delighted to welcome the news of a new route between Ireland West Airport and Palma Majorca beginning next March.
Lauda Air will commence the new route, which will operate twice weekly, on March 31, 2020.
Attending the announcement at Ireland West Airport Knock, Chief Executive of Mayo County Council, Peter Hynes, says the announcement “highlights the importance of Ireland West Airport to the region and provides a welcome boost for Tourism in this area and we look forward to welcoming new visitors to Mayo and the West.
“This announcement, coming on the back of the recent Strategic Development Zone approval, the new IWAK to Cologne route and the opening of the newly refurbished runway by An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, is a further boost for Ireland West Airport and County Mayo.”
Cllr Brendan Mulroy, Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, added; “This is a major milestone for Ireland West Airport, launching the first ever regional Ireland service for Lauda Air, and Mayo County Council are proud to be a partner. Ireland West Airport is the jewel in the crown of the West of Ireland and this new route only further enforces that. It is a massive boost for Mayo and the West, underlining the importance of having an international airport in the region.”
Lauda is a low-cost carrier based in Vienna in Austria and currently flies to 38 destinations across Europe.
