Ocean Spirit Leisure takes another National Quality Standard award

IT was blue flags all around for Westport last week at the National Quality Standard Awards 2018 in Druids Glen Resort. Ireland Active, the representative body for the Leisure, Health and Fitness Industry, awarded the top leisure, fitness and hotel leisure facilities across the country at the National Quality Standard Awards (NQSA) at the annual awards ceremony at Druids Glen Resort. The NQSA, is the most sought-after and respected accolade in the leisure and fitness industry and is awarded to facilities that meet the operational standards for leisure and fitness facilities across 250 quality-based criteria.
The standard is designed to encourage continuous improvement within the sector and recognises facilities for their standards in the areas of safety, hygiene, customer service and human resources. The NQSA are the only industry specific award for the leisure, health and fitness sector in Ireland. Ocean Spirit Leisure at Hotel Westport scooped an ‘outstanding accolade’ for the eighteenth consecutive year. The Ireland Active National Quality Standard is a Leisure Centre and Hotel Leisure award which is scored on safety, hygiene, customer engagement and human resources.
The jury is comprised of an independent panel of experts with industry specific experience including representatives from CARA, Irish Water Safety, the Irish Hotels Federation, the Environmental Health Officer, the Microbiology Department at Trinity College, the National Lifeguard Training Programme and Sport Ireland.In attendance at the awards ceremony was Paul Collins, Leisure Centre Manager and Olivia Healy, Senior Leisure Attendant from Ocean Spirit Leisure at Hotel Westport, who were delighted to accept the award on behalf of the team at Ocean Spirit Leisure in Hotel Westport. Paul Collins, Ocean Spirit Manager said: “We are absolutely thrilled to win this award for the 18th year in a row. It is a testament to my team’s hard work and continued commitment towards high standards here at Ocean Spirit Leisure.”
