Shedding Light on the ESB Archives
Join a special talk on rural electrification and the ESB Archives in association with the temporary exhibition Kitchen Power. Taking place on Saturday, 9 November, from 3 to 4pm, Shedding Light on the ESB Archives will explore the history of the ESB and the way in which it is intertwined with Ireland’s national narrative. Through content from the fascinating ESB Archives, this talk will demonstrate the evidential and inspirational value of preserving and making accessible the story of the electrification of Ireland. Join ‘Make Create Innovate’ to learn about the science behind electrically generated motion on Saturday, December 7. Harness the Power is a fun, hands-on workshop for families where participants will use a DC motor to build their own robotic aid to help with the housework. Museum opening hours
Admission to the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life, Turlough Park House & Gardens is free. The exhibition galleries are open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday to Monday from 1 to 5pm.
