Mayo Manchester Launch Guinness Shamrock Pie for St Patrick’s Day

Mayo Manchester launched a special Shamrock Steak & Guinness Pie at The 2015 Manchester Irish Festival created by the Levenshulme based artisan bakery called Life of Pie. The Pie was launched on Saturday 14 March at the newly opened Fred’s Ale House, Coffee Bar and Art Gallery in Levenshulme. Pictured here launching the Pie are Freds Ale House Staff, Ciara Esler, Callum Gallagher and Emily Smith.
Lawrence Hennigan the festival websites marketing director and a director of Mayo Manchester commented “We wanted to do something to celebrate our twentieth anniversary and asked Wendy Orr from the Life of Pie to create us something special. It has caused quite a stir on our social media sites with lots of positive feedback from all over the globe. I don’t think I have ever seen a Guinness Shamrock Pie before, it goes perfectly with the Shamrock logo’s we train our staff to put on the pints of Guinness. The customers are loving it and our buying the hand crafted pie to send to their friends all round the world and back home to Mayo. We have got her working on one for Mayo Day, so watch this space.”
The Manchester Irish Festival is Europe’s biggest Irish Festival and runs from Friday 6 March until Friday 20 March, highlights still to come include the St Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday 15 March, plus a whole host of concerts and sold out shows run right through to Friday 20 March.
