Launch of Family Support Service for Erris

Le Chéile Family Resource Centre is happy to announce a new Community Based Family Support Service for Erris. The service will be officially launched by Paddy Martin, Area Manager, Tusla – Child and Family Agency at 11.30am on Wednesday September 19th in the Irish Wheelchair Association building in Logmore, Belmullet. Families, schools, service providers and the wider community are invited to attend; light refreshments will be served.
Michelle O’ Mahoney who is employed as the full – time Family Support Project Worker is delighted to offer such a service in the area: ‘Erris is not unique in its need for a family support service. We know through experience that delivering family support directly into the local community works. This service is free and confidential and I would like people to know that we are here to help.‘
Family support is a voluntary service and is available to any family with a child/children under the age of 18 years. The service is for parents having difficulty in managing their child/children’s behaviours, families experiencing communications and relationship difficulties, and parents experiencing crisis which impact on their children. The aim of the Community Based Family Support Service is to work in partnership with families who are experiencing difficulties. Ann Conway – Walsh, Co – ordinator of Le Chéile Family Resource Centre is “excited to be working in partnership with Tusla and local agencies to provide a much needed service to families in Erris”.
Referrals are welcome from families, service providers, community organisations, agencies and schools.
