Garda Commissioner to give talk on “Women in Policing” in Turlough

The Garda Commissioner, Noirin O’Sullivan, returns to the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life, Turlough Park, Castlebar on Friday 27 February (7-8pm) to give a talk on “Women in Policing”. The Commissioner’s talk, which coincides with the Museum’s Preserving the Peace Exhibition, has limited spaces and booking is required.
‘Women in Policing’ – A talk by Garda Commissioner, Noirín O’Sullivan
The National Museum of Ireland-Country Life is delighted to welcome back Garda Commissioner, Noirín O’Sullivan to Turlough Park, Castlebar, Co. Mayo. Commissioner O’Sullivan will deliver her talk ‘Women in Policing’ on Friday, 27 February 2015 at 7pm.
The Preserving the Peace Exhibition continues till the 24 May 2015
Commissioner O’Sullivan joined An Garda Síochána in 1981 when women were very much in the minority within the organisation. After 30 years of professional policing experience, Commissioner O’Sullivan was appointed to the highest rank in the Republic’s police service and in so doing became the service’s first female Commissioner.
