The Press Photographers Association of Ireland is delighted to announce that its ‘Press Photographer of the Year’ exhibition will be on display in Claremorris Town Hall Theatre from the 17th to the 23rd of February.
The overall award of ‘Press Photographer of the Year’ was presented to Tom Honan, a freelance photographer from Dublin at the awards ceremony earlier this year. Tom started his career with Inpho Photography before moving on to work for a time with The Irish Mail on Sunday. He is no stranger to the PPAI Awards stage having received 9 awards to date in previous years. His winning portfolio this year features work commissioned by The Irish Times.
Freelance photographer, Michael Chester, was awarded 1st prize in the Sports Feature category for his photograph, ‘Shower Power’ which is one of three of Michael’s photographs featuring in this year’s exhibition.
Crispin Rodwell, President, Press Photographers Association of Ireland, commented, “We are delighted that the Press Photographer of the Year exhibition will be staying on for a few extra weeks in DLR Lexicon and that the exhibition has proven popular with visitors to the DLR Lexicon during July. We would like to thank Marian Keyes and all the team at the DLR Lexicon for their continued support and we hope that visitors to the library during August will continue to enjoy viewing the collection of images from our Irish Press Photographers.”

The Exhibition will run from the 17th to the 23rd of February, all are welcome to attend.
