Newport 300 is the umbrella title for a series of events which will be held in the town of Newport, County Mayo, in 2020. Founded three hundred years ago by the making of a grant from Thomas John Medlicott to Captain Pratt, who built twenty houses in what is now the centre of this beautiful little town at the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way and Great Western Greenway.
The line up for this music spectacular includes; Sharon Shannon, Mundy, Frances Black, Mary Coughlan, local talent ‘Coda’ and the welsh ‘Newport Male Voice Choir’.
The locals are exuberant about the upcoming performance and they are said to be looking forward to welcoming the acts and fans alike, from near and far, to their little town – where they will discover a hidden gem in the west of Ireland, just 10 minutes from the popular destination of Westport.
