An event every day that begins at 8:00pm, repeating indefinitely
The Kiltimagh One Act Drama Festival returns to The Town Hall Theatre Kiltimagh on Friday 15th November and runs for three nights.
The festival will see nine groups from counties Dublin, Cork, Wexford, Roscommon, Sligo, Clare and Mayo competing for a place in this year’s All Ireland One Act Drama Finals which are being held in Rossmore, Co Cork in December. On our opening night we have some local interest when Wilde River Drama Group from Ballinrobe present their new play ‘Hue & Cry’ by Deirdre Kinahan.
Some of our regular festival goers will remember Wilde River winning our festival last year with another Deirdre Kinahan play. Saturday night Coolgreaney Drama Group Wexford, Martello Productions from Dublin and Ennis Players take to the stage for what promises to be a very strong night of drama and finally on Sunday night we have our local group Clann Machua compete alongside Roscommon Drama Group and Phoenix Players from Tubbercurry.
This year Clann Machau are reviving a lovely old welsh play called ‘Birds of a Feather’ starring Brian Cunningham, Lorcan Kitching, Adrian Lavan and Gerry King and is directed by Oisin Herraghty.
The adjudicator for the weekend is Padraic McIntyre who is well known from his play ‘The night Joe Dolan’s car broke down’. Curtain up each evening at 8pm.
Tickets are €10 and available on the door or from Langan Off-Licence and if you wish to see all nine play over the weekend there is the special season ticket for only €20. Further information 087 7510038
