Training: Creating a Youth Arts Policy for your organisation training delivered by Anne O Gorman, National Youth Arts Programme Manager from the National Youth Council of Ireland. https://www.youth.ie/
This training provides participants with the skillset to develop a Youth Arts Policy within their organisation, contextualising it within the wider policy environment and focusing on building on existing work.
2.30pm -4pm: Discussion led by Maeve Mulrennan*
Maeve will give a presentation on Red Bird Youth Arts Collective, a youth-led visual arts collective based out of Galway Arts Centre. Beginning with the research and development phase 2008 – 2010, she will then look at the founding of the collective, facilitating young people in leadership roles, and working with young people on strategic planning. She will show documentation from a couple of their projects, including one funded by the NYCI.
*Maeve Mulrennan is a curator and writer based in Galway. She is the Head of Visual Art + Education in Galway Arts Centre.
