€21.7m investment confirmed for Mayo roads

An investment of €21,725, 574 has been announced by Minister of State Michael Ring. The money is being allocated to Mayo County Council for road projects in the New Year.
The investment in National Primary roads is as follows:
HD15 and HD17 Minor Works: N26 Clongullane Realignment €600,000
Major Scheme: N5 Castlebar to Bohola €100,000, Charlestown By-Pass €100,000
The investment in National Secondary roads is as follows:
HD15 and HD17 Minor Works: N59MO159 – Carrowbawn €60,000
Major Scheme: Westport to Turlough €9,042,000, Westport to Mulranny €2,100,000
Pavement and Minor Works: N59 Improvements at Mulranny €500,000, N59 Kilbride Road Improvement €30,000, N59 Kilmeena LVNS €800,000, N59 Newport to Derrada Realignment €100,000, Rossow Bends €3,530,000, N60 Heathlawn €600,000, N60 Lagnamuck €300,000, N60 Manulla Cross €440,000
The majority of the funding is going towards the National Secondary Major Scheme with an investment of €11,142,000 going towards the Westport to Turlough and the Westport to Mulranny routes. Whilst an investment of €6,300,000 is going towards the funding of National Secondary Pavement and Minor Works.
