Castlebar – Friday November 22nd – Market Square – 5pm
Organised by Castlebar Municipal District- Mayo County Council, the countdown to Christmas has truly begun with the announcement that the switching on of Christmas Lights will take place on Market Square, Castlebar on Friday 22nd of November at 5pm. The Christmas Lights will be switched on by Cllr Michael Kilcoyne the Cathaoirleach of Castlebar Municipal District, the Castlebar Town band will be in attendance to add to the festive atmosphere and there is a rumored appearance of Santa! All are Welcome
Ballina – Sunday November 24th – Jackie Clarke Collection – 3pm
The Santa arrival party and official turning on of Ballina’s Christmas lights take place at the Jackie Clarke Collection on Sunday November 24th beginning at 3pm. A whole host of activities taking place on the day including:
- Mrs Clause on the Bandstand in the walled heritage garden.
- Local Girl Guides Unit with festive crafts
- Festive Scenes at the JCC Cinema
- Foxford Brass & Reed Band
- Atlantic Rhythm,
- The Core,
- The Men’s Shed Choir,
- Christmas Themed Treasure Hunt,
- The Big Blue Bus
- Face painting
- Cake Bake Sale with Culleens National School
Santa will then proceed to turn on the town lights at 5pm.
Belmullet – Saturday November 30th – 2pm to 5pm
The Belmullet Christmas Market & Festival of Lights is on Saturday 30th November 2019 from 2pm – 5pm. Activities taking place on the day include:
- Santa, Mrs Clause and the Elves
- Spectacular Fire Show
- The Festive Train
- Christmas Lights switch on with Street Artists, Music
- Blessing of the Crib
- Stalls and lots more
- Erris Agricultural Show with a Christmas Tractor Run
A great fun-filled family day out.
Ballycastle – Saturday November 30th – 12pm to 6pm & Sunday December 1st 12pm -3pm
The annual Ballycastle Christmas Fair will take place in the Resource Centre
Ballinrobe – Saturday November 30th & Sunday December 1st – Ballinrobe Library – 11am – 5pm (Saturday) & 5pm (Sunday)
Ballinrobe Christmas starts on Saturday November 30th with the ‘Santa Experience In The Library’ featuring:
- Live Crib
- Face Painting
- Carol Singing
- Mulled Wine
- Kids Christmas Crafts
Sunday, December 1st will see the ‘Christmas Lights Tractor Run’ at 5pm which includes the Kiddies Tractor Run
Newport Christmas Village – Sunday December 1st – 4pm to 7pm
Make sure to be in Newport Sunday 1st of December from 4 to7!
Newport Business Association are holding a Festive Christmas Market on the streets of Newport in conjunction with The Newport Christmas Lights been lit and Santa coming ????
It will be a fun filled festive family evening with Christmas lights switch on ceremony, street market selling local crafts, carol singers and music and festive food stalls and hot drinks.
Local business, artists, bakers, knitters, jewellers, jam makers etc will have stalls and get Newport in the Christmas spirit on the day and let everyone know that Newport is open for business and the new BLINC (Buy local In Newport this Christmas) campaign will be up and running!
This is a yearly Christmas campaign where we will have Newport become a Christmas Village Destination????
This is the start of something which will become much bigger so we encourage as many as possible to be involved!

Kiltane Christmas Market – Sunday December 1st 11am – 3pm
Kiltane Christmas Market is on Sunday 1st December in Geesala Community Centre. Each year we raise funds for Charities and organisations in need of charitable donations.
This year they are giving all money raised to BallyGlass RNLI
Christmas Recital at the Thatch Cottage, Kilmovee – Thursday 5th December at 8pm.
We are delighted to have the Carra Singers, as well as the Ballaghaderreen Cathedral Choir, Kilmovee Parish Choir and others. Mulled wine and mince pies served afterwards. Please join us for an evening of entertainment in the wonderful atmosphere of the Thatch.
Admission €10, all proceeds go to local charities.

Knock Christmas Market – Sunday December 8th – 11am – 4pm
Sunday 8th December from 11am – 4pm sees the Knock Christmas Market return to Knock House Hotel, where there will be a variety of stands.
