Project Description

The study area associated with the proposed N5 Turlough to Bohola and Swinford to Mount Falcon Road Project commences on the existing N5 in the townland of Capparanny and terminates on the existing N5 in the townland of Clooneen, east of Bohola.   The study area also extends northwards to Mount Falcon and eastwards to Swinford and in doing so captures the existing N5, N26 & N58 road corridors and such areas as Turlough, Ballyvary, Bohola, Straide, Foxford, Callow and Swinford. The proposed project will consider the upgrade of the existing N5 from Turlough to Bohola.   In conjunction with this it will consider the most appropriate road corridor link (N26/N58) from the existing and/or proposed N5 to Mount Falcon.   The proposed project will also consider the upgrade of the existing N26 from Foxford to Swinford.

Current Project Phase

The preferred route was adopted by Mayo County Council on the 13th July 2015

The route corridors shown on this map are for general location purposes only. They are approximate and do not represent the actual design.
