#MayoDay - Oceans Apart
Today, #MayoDay takes place solely online with a live show right here from 1.00 - 3.00 pm!
Like previous years Mayo Day will be filled with music and entertainment, but this time we need to tune in right here for Mayo Day Live – Global Voices presented by Liam Horan and Louise Duffy.
The show will be a mix of chat, interviews, music, and messages of hope and solidarity for a special Mayo Day from well-known people from Mayo and those who love Co. Mayo.
We ask you to be part of the conversation on social media, upload your videos of you and your family taking part from your homes or gardens - wearing the Green and Red with pride and solidarity with our frontline works and with the families of those who have lost their lives to Covid-19. To find out more about all of our #MayoDay campaigns and to view our new film 'Oceans Apart' visit our social media channels.
This Mayo Day, take a virtual spin to your favourite Mayo beauty spot! We’ve used many of the fabulous #WildMayo images you have shared with us over the years to map out some great tours around our stunning county.

The Ballinglen Arts Foundation was established in 1992 by Margo Dolan and Peter Maxwell awarding artists time to create artwork in the idyllic village of Ballycastle surrounded by magnificent landscape. Each artist who visits leaves one piece of work to our Permanent Collection. This notable collection, as you can see from this exhibition, reflects the world around Ballycastle, a world overlaid by a map of works made by the artists who have been coming to work for 28 years.
You can view the collection HERE
The Lyons Collection comprises thousands of digitised photographs from the renowned Westport photographer Liam Lyons covering the period from the mid 1950s up to the 1990s. It represents a pictorial history of Mayo over those decades and covers almost all aspects of life in the county: political, sporting, social activities, industrial and commercial development, education, religion etc. Mayo County Library has digitised the collection.
