Little Gem Puppets

Saturday 18th, Sunday 19th, Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th September at 12pm

Join Little Gem Puppets for their interactive outdoor shows at the front of Westport Theatre. Stories such as “The Three Little Pigs” & “Little Red Riding Hood” are brought to colourful life by Carmel Balfe and her lively, loveable puppets!

The Westport Story

Sunday 19th & Sunday 26th September at 1pm & 3pm

The Westport Story is a 60–Minute Animated Theatrical Tour of Westport. This wonderful dramatized tour brings a variety of iconic Mayo characters and legends to life. The actors play an array of colourful characters as they lead their audience on an interactive tour of the streets of Westport. See St Patrick enduring all sorts of problems, let Gráinne Mhaol give you a taste of life at sea and many more historic and sometimes comical local anecdotes. Suitable for all ages, this show was produced to encourage outdoor arts participation for a wider audience and to bring back some long forgotten stories and folklore surrounding the iconic town of Westport and County Mayo.

Live music returns to Westport Town Hall Theatre as the venue presents a series of free live outdoor music gigs.

Ciaran O’Malley and Band

Saturday  18th at 4pm.

Ciaran O’Malley and his band will take to our outdoor stage with a multi-layered style of rock and popular music with and extensive repertoire to suit all tastes.

Octagon Trad

Sunday 19th at 4pm

Well-known local trad musicians such as Dan Delaney, Johnny Fadian, Laoise Ní Chionnaith, Tony Reidy & John Scahill will transform the Octagon with flute, fiddle, guitar, whistle and double base for some lively tunes from their famous Octagon Sunday sessions!

Clew Bay Critters

Saturday 25th at 4pm

The Critters are a 4-piece string band headed up by Tim Rogers that play a brilliantly curated mix of Old Time songs, wild fiddle tunes, acoustic swing and bluegrass standards. 


Sunday 26th at 4pm

The closing gig is with local band Seoda, a modern traditional group that play a range of Irish, Jazz and modern music. Band members include Brian Duffy, Mick Kelly, Sheona Ní Mháile, Sarah Ní Mháile and Clare Saunders.
