'Writing for Children and Young People' with E.R. Murray

May 10 @ 12:00 am - May 31 @ 12:00 am

If you want to write for children or teens and don’t know where to start, or you’ve been writing for other age groups and would like to try writing for a younger readership, this workshop is for you. Through prompted writing exercises, open discussion, and Q&A, this workshop series will cover a wide range of topics such as age classifications; voice; character; content; setting; world building and dialogue, to help you build a toolbox and start writing the stories you want to tell. This workshop will take place online via Zoom, over 4 weeks. Elizabeth Rose Murray writes for children, young adults, and adults. Her books include Caramel Hearts and The Nine Lives Trilogy: The Book of Learning (2016 Dublin UNESCO City of Literature Citywide Read for Children), The Book of Shadows (shortlisted 2016 Irish Book Awards & Irish Literacy Association Award) and The Book of Revenge. Recent anthology and journal publications include The Elysian: Creative Responses, Reading the Future, Autonomy, Popshots, Terrain, Tiny Essays, Banshee and Women on Nature.
