Ceol Nua Mhaigh Eo - Beo

March 16 @ 12:00 am

The Linenhall Arts Centre proudly presents the highly anticipated Ceol Nua Mhaigh Eo- Beo (New Music of Mayo Live) on the evening of March 16th. Conceptualised during the lockdown of 2021, New Music of Mayo has been created to bring imaginative and contemporary musical compositions and poetry, as inspired by the deeply rooted cultural landscape of Mayo. This is an opportunity to experience brand new repertoire performed by the musicians and singers who composed it. Featuring artists from all corners of Mayo, the concert gives us a unique perspective on traditional artists’ approach to composition in an ancient art form. A perfect way to kick off these long awaited St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Look forward to listening to the immense talents of Joe Carey (accordion), Holly Geraghty (harp), John Hoban (voice, mando-cello, fiddle), Fiachna Ó Mongáin (accordion), Mary Staunton (accordion) & Jerry Mulvihill (banjo), Stephen Doherty (flute), David Doocey (fiddle) and Ger Reidy (poetry). Tickets are available via the Linenhall website
