Science & Technology Festival

13th - 20th Nov 2022

Circus Science by the Sea

Date: 27-10-2022

Ireland’s first ever circus science festival and forum – Circus Science by the Sea – happening 19th to 20th November 2022 on beautiful Achill Island in our very own County Mayo! We are proud to be part of Science Foundation Ireland’s Science Week.

Do hope you can join us for a vibrant, friendly weekend with a fabulous mix of excellent circus science performance from around Ireland and beyond, alongside discussion and debate with representatives from leading scientific and environmental organisations. Our aim is to see how circus can best be used to communicate science and help tackle the challenges of the climate crisis, while having great conversations and a fun weekend. Everyone is welcome.

Would you like to be part of one of the discussions which will take place on Sunday 20th November? It would be great to have your perspective and expert input. We are very open to ideas about how you would like to be involved.

To give a sense of the rest of the weekend, performances will include:

  1. Award winning StrongWomen Science circus show for families
  2. Juanita’s Talk tackling single use plastic with Ireland’s leading female clown
  3. Nature’s Secret Circus environmental circus workshops in the landscape
  4. Fruity ‘n Dishy juggling and plate spinning challenging an orange’s airmiles
  5. Ireland’s most elevated scientists – Science on Stilts – taking interactive science to new heights

All performances, workshops, discussions and events are free.
