Oweninny Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund 2024 - CATEGORY 4, small-scale capital projects, REST OF COUNTY (outside Oweninny Targeted Area).

Mayo County Council invites online applications from qualifying community groups from outside the defined Oweninny Windfarm Community Benefit Fund Target Area for funding, under Category 4 – small-scale capital projects, Rest of County, under the Oweninny Windfarm Community Benefit Fund 2024.

Qualifying Categories:-
For an application to be considered for funding under the Scheme, it must satisfy at least one of the following categories:-
- Amenities; Culture/Heritage; Education; Recreation/Health; Social Inclusion; Community Development; Environment.
*Qualifying Criteria:-
A qualifying criterion applies, including membership of Mayo PPN.
Benefitting entity is required to be a community based voluntary / enterprise organisation and providing benefit to people and communities in County Mayo, outside of the defined Target Area. Further details, including a map of the defined Target Area are available on www.mayo.ie.
The Fund will support:
- Groups around purchase of equipment e.g., tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, lawnmowers, canopies, and training equipment etc
- Communities, community groups/committees allowing them to continue to provide valuable services to the people in their area, and in the process strengthen the bonds that tie communities together
Examples of Projects that could receive funding under Category 4 include:-
- Development / renovation of community centres
- Community amenities
- Development of youth clubs or facilities
- Development of sports/ recreation facilities
- Improvements to town parks and common areas and spaces
- Public realm improvements
- Streetscaping
- Development of play/ recreation spaces
- Energy efficiency type projects.

Before you Start – We recommend that you have the following supporting documents to hand:-
- PPN Number
- Registered Charity Number (if applicable)
- Tax Reference Number (if applicable)
- Tax Clearance Access Number (if applicable)
- Details of Income Received from any other source
- Bank Statement Header – recent, and in applicant Group name
- Capital – 3 Quotations per element to meet National procurement requirements. Quotes must be dated within 3 months of application submission.
Your application is dependent on the submission of the above supporting documents. If any supporting documents are missing, your application may be rejected and not considered for evaluation.
