Mayo Sports Partnership Launches their Women in Sport Week

Women in Sport Week 2023 will kick off on Monday 6th March and Mayo Sports Partnership are inviting you to get involved in this celebration and take the time to acknowledge all the amazing women and girls who lead, administer, volunteer, coach, officiate and participate in sport.

An initiative by Sport Ireland , the aims of the week are:

  • To promote and highlight the ongoing work of Sport Ireland, National Governing Bodies, Local Sports Partnerships and other stakeholders and funded bodies, under the topic of Women in Sport.
  • To celebrate every woman and girl who plays, coaches, officiates, volunteers, works in and leads out on WIS.
  • To encourage and remind men and boys to be allies for women in sport

Sport Ireland have created a theme per day which are as follows:

  • Monday 6th – High Performance
  • Tuesday 7th – Coaching and Officiating
  • Wednesday 8th – International Women's Day
  • Thursday 9th – Leadership and Governance
  • Friday 10th – Active Participation
  • Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th – Visibility & Event

In celebration of this week, Mayo Sports Partnership have been very busy putting together a fully inclusive week of events for all women and are delighted to launch their Women in Sport 2023 Calendar of Event which can be viewed HERE
