Mayo Day 2015

The inaugural Mayo Day was celebrated in Saturday, May 2nd 2015 and was the ideal opportunity for Mayo people at home and abroad to celebrate all that is good about our County.

The day featured numerous events celebrating the day throughout the county with the highlight being 'Mayo Day Live'. Broadcast live from the Royal Theatre in Castlebar, the two-hour television show was produced by Irish TV and broadcast on Sky channel 191 between 8pm and 10pm. The show was a celebration of County Mayo - its heritage, its culture and its people - and contained a mix of performances, music and chat in a gala-style setting.

The show featured a star-studded line-up of performers, characters and luminaries from County Mayo with An Taoiseach Enda Kenny delivering a live address from his hometown on the night. The night was hosted by TV personality and former Rose of Tralee Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabhain
