Community Funding


  • Community and Cultural Facilities Capital Scheme (CCFCS)

    Mayo County Council can provide financial assistance to community and voluntary groups to develop recreational and cultural facilities including open spaces, walks and parklands, play areas, community arts projects and conservation and natural heritage projects.

  • Community Benefit Fund

    Mayo County Council can provide financial assistance to community, voluntary and enterprise groups to support community development projects to provide or improve amenity, recreational, environmental, cultural and heritage facilities and promote social inclusion.

  • Community Enhancement Programme (CEP)

    Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs) can provide financial assistance to community and voluntary groups to support small-scale capital projects which enhance facilities in disadvantaged areas including the development of community centres and amenities, burial grounds, sports and recreation facilities, men's and women's sheds and CCTV equipment.

  • Community Fund Scheme

    Mayo County Council can provide financial assistance to community and voluntary groups to develop projects that improve the quality of life and the range and quality of community facilities including infrastructural projects, maintenance of open spaces, environmental improvement projects and the purchase of equipment that benefits local communities.

  • Community Playground Grant

    Mayo County Council can provide financial assistance to community playground committees for the operation and maintenance of community playgrounds including the purchase of equipment, surfacing and landscaping.

  • Educational Bursary Support

    Mayo County Council can provide financial assistance to eligible students who wish to attend a third level institute to undertake undergraduate, postgraduate, Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) or Certificate studies.

  • Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF)

    Mayo County Council can provide financial assistance and support to sporting bodies, clubs and voluntary organisations for projects which develop large-scale sports facilities, improve facility standards and increase participation and interest in sport.

  • Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS)

    Mayo County Council can support community and voluntary groups and local development companies to secure government funding to develop or maintain outdoor recreational facilities in rural areas such as trails, walkways, cycleways, greenways and blueways.

  • Painting Grant Scheme

    Mayo County Council can provide financial assistance to owners of residential and commercial properties to carry out improvement works such as external painting, signage, joinery repairs and minor external repairs to encourage investment in, and improve the character and appearance of properties in designated areas.

  • Play and Recreation Grant Scheme

    Mayo County Council can provide financial assistance to community and voluntary groups who work with children and young people to provide recreational and play activities which are non-competitive and promote free play.

  • Rural Regeneration and Development Fund

    Mayo County Council can support local development companies, state agencies, community organisations and private investors to secure government funding to develop projects that support job creation and innovation, address de-population, develop infrastructure and community facilities and protect culture and heritage in rural communities.

  • Twinning Events Grant

    Mayo County Council can provide financial assistance to groups based in their area to develop twinning events such as workshops, public meetings, cultural festivals, celebrations and exchanges which promote links with cities, towns or villages that are twinned with the council.

  • Urban Regeneration and Development Fund

    Mayo County Council can work with local and regional based organisations such as local development companies, state agencies, community organisations and private investors to secure government funding to support new residential and commercial developments in designated cities and towns.
