Earlier this week, Michael, and his wife of 56 years, Margaret spoke how overwhelmed they were by the many good luck wishes from their friends and neighbours in Castlebar and Achill Beg.

The couple have two sons, Stephen and Peter. Stephen lives m in Portugal and watched Winning Streak online last night, while Peter was in the Winning Streak studio with his children, Rebecca and Emily. Michael also has two brothers: Joe, who lives in Achill and Johnny, who lives in London.

Michael moved to Castlebar when he retired in 2004. Retirement has been treating him well and he is enjoying spending time with his wife and gardening.

Michael is going to wait until the dust has settled to decide what to do with his winnings for €143,000.
