Mayo comedian on Ireland’s Got Talent

A MAYO comedian/actress will take to the stage this Saturday night as Ireland’s Got Talent continues on Virgin Media One.
The talent is international this week with a singing nurse from the Philippines, an aerial trio from across Europe, while closer to home Daniel O’Donnell fans are in for a treat as an adorable tribute act from Cavan called ‘The Wee Daniels’ take to the stage.
The show (to be aired at 7.30 p.m. next Saturday) also features Christina McMahon, aka Bernadette Mary, a 34-year-old Mayo comedian who has been performing stand-up comedy for the past year. With a slot at Electric Picnic, she has managed to get some experience under her belt, but will the judges find her funny and put her through?
Having worked as a guard and a primary school teacher, Christina switched to comedy, and will be performing her comedy song ‘Tender Tinder Ballad’ on this weekend’s show.
You may well have spotted Christina on TV before – she’s done some extras work for Fair City and Vikings.
Her skills include doing accents and voices: “I can do many different accents and character voices. One of the creepier voices I can do is ‘Herbert the Pervert’ from Family Guy. I mimic the voices of Bosco and Marian and Blindboy Boatclub from the Rubberbandits!”
