Posted in Connect on December 5, 2018.
Mayo is set to receive up to €60,000 in funding under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme and the Historic Structures Fund for 2019. The funding will see an increase in available funding of up to 20 per cent in Mayo compared to 2018. “Both schemes are open for applications until January 31, 2019, and I strongly encourage all relevant authorities to apply,” said Minister for Rural and Community Development Michael Ring. “This funding will allow for the conservation and repair of protected structures across Mayo. “These buildings and structures are so important to our heritage and identity as a county, and maintaining and repairing them is a crucial part of the regeneration of our communities.” According to Minister Ring, officials will be contacting all local authorities in Ireland in the coming days regarding their allocations for 2019. Grant schemes will be advertised in the local media and on the websites of all local authorities and the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
