The Ballina-based, Meitheal Award-winning Heroes for Hospice musical group is delighted to announce that, following a sell-out run last December and January, its production, ‘Oliver With A Twist’, is returning to Ballina Arts Centre for two performances on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, December 4 and 5 next.
Led by well known local musical director, Lavinia Gilmartin, this voluntary musical group is comprised of highly talented local performers of all ages that have been staging fundraising musical productions for many years.
Heroes for Hospice gained significant notoriety in 2014 and 2015 when it staged its biggest production yet, ‘Beyond the Barricade’ – a musical show inspired by the classic Victor Hugo novel, ‘Les Miserables’. Featuring a cast of over 100 people, ‘Beyond the Barricade’ enjoyed successive sell-out runs in Ballina Arts Centre and Castlebar’s Royal Theatre and ultimately went on a sell-out tour to Dublin and Manchester in the UK.The Heroes made a much-anticipated return to the stage in December 2017 when they premiered their latest production, ‘Oliver With A Twist’ to a rapturous reception. Showcasing an inimitable take on the Charles Dickens tale, ‘Oliver Twist’, this musical ran for a total of six performances, with each show selling out in a matter of hours and yielding rave reviews, hailing it worthy of any West End or Broadway stage.
Tickets for the December 4 and 5 performances of ‘Oliver With A Twist’ are on sale at Ballina Arts Centre now.
