Foxford

Foxford is a scenic town nestled on the banks of the great angling River Moy.

Foxford is most famous in Ireland as the home of the Foxford Woolen Mills (external link) which offers the visitor an interactive audio-visual experience as well as a factory tour.  There is also a great Museum shop which sells items manufactured on site.

Foxford is also famous in Argentina as the birthplace of Admiral Brown (Admiral Brown Society of Foxford website - external link) who was born in Foxford, Mayo but went on to become the father of the Argentine Navy.  This tie is commemorated each year by the Argentine Navy with a ceremony held in Foxford.

Foxford is a lovely town in itself with a number of fine shops and restaurants and is also a great base for an angling holiday (Moy Fishery website - external link).
