Ballyhaunis

 

Ballyhaunis is centrally positioned in the heart of Connaught, and only 10km from Knock Marian Shrine and 25km from Ireland West Airport Knock.  For the walking/cycling enthusiast there is a network of country lanes around Ballyhaunis and the general area that would impress anyone.  Accomodation is varied in the local area and ranges from Bed/Breakfasts to Guest Houses to Self-catering houses to hotels. Entertainment to suit any taste can be found in the town, from traditional Irish music and dance to cabaret and disco.

A festival takes place annually in mid August this is a traditional boat racing event with ancillary land based activities, music and dancing on an out door stage.
