A beautiful park in the town with a 1 mile walk around Clare Lake and a newly developed 3 mile greenway through woodland, extending from the Children’s Playground at Mc Mahon Park towards Claremorris Golf Club and the historic Castlemacgarrett Estate, formerly the sister estate of Ashford Castle and home of the Gray & Guinness Families has recently been developed.

History
Interesting History of Claremorris Town;
- Birthplace of Connaught GAA. First Connaught Council meeting took place here in 1902
- Home of Sir John Gray, statue of whom stands in O’Connell Street, Dublin. He brought drinking water to Dublin City in 1800, and is to this day considered one of the greatest public servants of all time.
- The Land League flag was made here and was carried the 7 miles from this spot to Irishtown in 1879 for the foundation of the Land League by Michael Davitt.
- Cardinal D’Alton was born here in 1882, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland
- Famine Workhouse opened on this site in 1841.
- Birth Place of Delia Murphy in 1902. She recorded over 400 ballads in her lifetime.
