An Taoiseach Enda Kenny Launches Mayo.ie

Mayo.ie was formally launched by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny on Friday, 3rd June at the National Museum of Country Life, Turlough. The launch was attended by Minister Ring, TDs Calleary and Mulherin as well as Cathaoirligh Burke and Deere and numerous Councillors. The Western Development Commission and members of dozens of community and voluntary groups who assisted with the project to date also attended.

An Taoiseach highlighted the importance of efforts such as Mayo.ie for helping Ireland to connect with its global diaspora and to re-establish links with our friends and cousins worldwide.

County Manager Peter Hynes outlined the goal of the project as being to get people talking and working together on projects worldwide.

Thanks to everyone who attended and who have helped with the project so far. As you can see from the site, everything is in place--but there is still much to do and loads of information to share. So, as County Manager Hynes asked the audience, please register on Mayo.ie and tell your friends to join the site as well.
