Mayo Family History forum | Mayo Family Tree Quick Search

If you’re researching your family history, and have connections to County Mayo, then why not share your findings with others by using the Mayo Family Tree facility here on Mayo.ie. This lets you upload details of your ancestors (either using gedcoms or simply typing in your data) which will add to the main “Mayo Family Tree” (login and click above). By doing this, you will be able to see how your ancestors are connected to other members of Mayo’s global family, which will allow you to discover new facts about your genealogy and meet new relations along the way.

Whether you’re new to genealogy or an “old hand” at it, our “All Things Mayo” section has information on how to begin your search into your family ancestry as well as providing you with the online resources to access the data that you need.

You might begin your search at the Mayo Family History Centres or visit the Mayo County Library, which has a large collection of Parish and Valuation records as well as local newspaper articles dating back to the 1800’s.

Alternatively, you can explore some of the online resources listed at the right of this page which includes links to the official Mayo genealogy website and many others.

Or if you are currently tracing your ancestors, why not share your experiences or latest challenges on our genealogy discussion board? The discussion board is also a good place to post any queries or information requests that you may have on your Mayo ancestors.

Whatever stage you are at in your search, our genealogy section will provide you with the resources you need to take your search one step further.
